Your El Questro adventure begins with the journey itself. Tucked away in the East Kimberley region of Western Australia the most direct way to get to us is via the town of Kununurra.
From Kununurra, El Questro Emma Gorge is 83 kms west: 58 kms on the Great Northern Highway towards Wyndham and then 25 kms on a sealed section of the Gibb River Road. The gravel driveway is 2 km and can be accessed by 2WD vehicles during the dry. A small creek crossing is located 300 m from the entrance to the resort. We recommend checking with our onsite team that your 2WD vehicle can travel through the crossing at the start of the season.
From Kununurra, El Questro Station is 110 kms west: 58 kms on the Great Northern Highway towards Wyndham, 36 kms on a sealed section of the Gibb River Road, with the remaining 16 kms on a gravel road. You will need a 4WD to get into El Questro Station.

Self-driving
The entrance to El Questro is accessed mainly via sealed roads, The 'driveway' to the Station is a 16km unsealed corrugated section of road with several rocky water crossings into the Station; the water crossings being approximately 300-500mm in depth depending on the time of year, we do recommend high clearance 4WD only accessing the Station and the Homestead.
Scheduled Transfers
El Questro operates shared scheduled road transfers from Kununurra airport as well as from accommodation providers in the town centre. Book here.

If your flight arrival or departure time falls outside our scheduled transfers, a private transfer can be arranged. Contact us for more details.
By Air
Self Fly
Guests planning to fly into El Questro Station must contact the Reservations Team prior to arrival to obtain current airstrip information, operational procedures and arrival contact details. We suggest self-flying guests to stay at El Questro Station, with accommodation nearby to the airstrip.
Important:
- Current airstrip conditions must be confirmed prior to departure.
- Guests must contact El Questro Station at least 24 hours prior to arrival for all planned landings.
- Airstrip information and approvals should be obtained well in advance of travel.

Air Transfers
Arrive at El Questro by scenic fixed-wing aircraft or helicopter and experience the Kimberley from above.
Shared air transfers operate on selected days and are available on request, subject to availability and minimum passenger numbers.
Helicopter transfers are available exclusively for El Questro Homestead guests.
